It is quite normal if there are several static HTML files in the
public folder alongside to the PHP scripts. In particular,
there is often some kind of desperately pathetic “About Us”, notorious
soulless “Terms of Service”, shady “Privacy Policy”, and tons of other
legal bullshit no one read.
Static HTML files are the best, they do not hog your
httpd even on heavy load. By the way, they can come
pre-compressed with Gzip and Brotli to become even better.
Also you can have static index.html in front +
app.php for the rest.
So, here is my approach how to do this. The source text sits right here in Markdown, the HTML version is made using Pandoc along with other assets. The template for Pandoc is stored somewhere aside with PHP templates. Simple, stupid, cool, and badass.
All “sites-under-development” must include this. No kidding.
